Do you agree that Linux desktops are here?

I found some time ago this site which aims at proving that Linux desktops are currently over 1%. So, I registered my and my wife's Debian GNU/Linux desktops to contribute to the statistic.

As publicity for GNU/Linux, this project has potential to put Linux on the radar of more producers, so, please, add your desktops to the counter!

FYI, there's also http://counter.li.org/, which is getting stats since looong time :)

Very possible. This year we have had netbooks - Ubuntu and the kid have taken to them. One desktop had Ubuntu and student says, look the netbook is on the computer.

This same computer had a link to Windows Server which ran Exploder, Word, Powerpoint all much faster than Windows natively.

Hardest captcha-thingy ever. And when I finally get it right, browser tab just goes blank. :(

I would have registered myself there but the site thinks that a "+"-sign in mailadresses is not allowed. Incompetence ftw.

I still think that statistics that don't need users interaction are more faithful... See my "frequently updated" table of OS usage (taking into account wikipedia data, which calculates the median from several sources):

http://mindboosternoori.blogspot.com/2010/09/evolution-of-operating-systems-usage.html

The summary: Linux 1.66% in February, reached 1% in Sep. 2008 and kept rising ever since, at the cost of Windows.

@David: The counter at li.org is for all linux systems, while the one I indicated is aimed at Linux desktops.

@Mind...: see above, but your stats are interesting.

If someone asks google nicely, they may provide their search engine states, which will IMHO, have much better coverage than these indexes :)
